International students can work up to 48 hours per fort-night which is 16 hours per week. Students are allowed to work unlimited hours during semester break. Full-time work is allowed after completing their course, provided the student's visa is still valid. Income below AU$18,200 each year is tax-free.

The average tuition fee for international students ranges between AUD 14,000 to 50,000 per annum, depending on the course and institute you chose to study. The average living cost in Australia for an individual can range up to AUD 30,000-40,000.

Visa Requirements for Australia

Bangladeshi students applying for an Australian Student Visa (Subclass 500) must meet academic, financial, and English language requirements, submit documents via ImmiAccount, and comply with the new Genuine Student (GS) framework introduced in 2024. The visa allows full-time study and part-time work (up to 48 hours per fortnight).

Required Documents:
  • Valid passport.
  • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from Australian institution.
  • Proof of funds (bank statements, sponsor letters)
  • English proficiency test score (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE)
  • Academic transcripts and certificates.
  • Statement of purpose (aligned with GS framework)
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) certificate
  • Moral Character Certificate and Police Clearance Certificate 
  • Biometrics (photo + fingerprints)
Key Requirements for Bangladeshi Students:
  • All applications must be lodged online via ImmiAccount.
  • Must be accepted into a CRICOS-registered institution.
  • Minimum IELTS overall score of 6.0 to 7.0 (each band must have 6) or equivalent test score based on university and course requirements.
  • Evidence of tuition fees and living expenses (AUD 29,710 per year)
  • Visa fee is approx. AUD 2,000.
  • For biometrics photo and fingerprints collected by VFS Global in Bangladesh.
  • For Health insurance the applicant must purchase OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover).
